...But your color coordination is a little off--That yellow with that red just doesn't work :/
I think you want to make them both darker, and blend them a little bit. Actually, the background would be better off something like steel blue anyway (I dunno, I think cold metallic colors go with mirrored shades and black suits, don't you?)--Unless you're dead set on red, and there's nothing wrong with that
Also, shades look best if you give them highlights--I like to have a soft circle of white a little below and to the side of dead center. Makes them look like mirrored shades.
I assume you're using markers here? What kind? For broad areas like this, you want either Copic Broads or Prismas (I'm not going to go into the Prismas/Copics war here and now, but my opinion is, Copics are better, but holy hell do they cost more), otherwise you end up with streaks like you have in the black and red.
Actually, it's very hard to find a good black marker--I usually do an India-ink wash if I want hard black. Sumi brushes are good for that, and you can pick them up for about a dollar in any art store anywhere.
Anyway, great work
Do get Prismas. There are other brands around that can seem good, such as Trias, but really, for overall quality, you want either Prismas or Copics.
Unfortunately, markers are one of the most costly kinds of tools you can choose--I have spent nearly $300 on Prismas, and I still sometimes feel like I'm missing colors. In the long run, they beat even tablet for cost XD
So, markers are a lot of fun, but there are other tools out there that might work better--Colored inks are always fun, and if you can work with sumi brushes (Personally, I find stiff brushes hard to use anyway), they're pretty cheap
Not to put you off using markers, though--Whatever works for you
Desu Nya!
